Subject: Tartar Sauce Recipe


When I was into your office with Lorenzo Patelli recently, you mentioned that you were a tartar sauce epicure and were always on the lookout for new recipes.  Here's the one I use most frequently.  The addition of garlic and sugar helps give it a different tang. 

        l/4 onion
        2 tsp. parsley
        1/4 red or green bell peppers, seeded and halved
        l cup basic mayonnaise
        l tsp. lemon juice
        l tbsp. pickle relish (or more, if desired)
        l large clove garlic, mined fine
        1/2 tsp. sugar or sweetener of choice
        salt and pepper to taste 

Try it.  It's probably a pretty basic recipe, but those are sometimes the most difficult to find.  Most cooks try to complicate recipes so much that the food ends up tasting worse.
